Meet Joseph Pilates and His Method

More than seventy-five years ago, an asthmatic boxer name Joseph Pilates developed a fitness regimen and successfully used it to overcome his disabilities.  The method employs a series of movements that ENGAGE THE MIND AND BODY IN DEVELOPING STRONG, FLEXIBLE MUSCLE WITHOUT BULK.  Pilates emphasized developed deep torso strength and flexibility (centering). He drew from the Eastern traditions of controlled breathing and movement and added the Western approach of resistance training.

Pilates at Fitness Revolution is with a Certified Pilates Personal Trainer on the Pilates Equipment.  Pilates is considered a mind, body and spirit workout.  The smooth, motions and an emphasis on proper breathing leave participants feeling refreshed rather than exhausted.  Pilates is comprised of thousands of exercises with hundreds of variations and modifications which allow workouts to be customized to meet participates' individual needs.  The exercises require concentration, control, precision, conscious and specific breathing patterns and dynamic, fluid movements.  Deep abdominal muscles remain fully engaged during the workout, with fluid torso, arm and leg movements are performed against machine resistance.

PILATES PERSONAL TRAINING

Annual membership for Fitness Revolution is included when buying a Pilates Personal Training Package.  Quarterly body fat analysis, body mass index, exercise programs and food journals are also included when purchasing a Pilates Personal Training Package, if desired to help reach your individual goals.  

*  All privates and duets sessions are 60 minutes long. Clinics are 55 minutes.

*  Socks are required on Pilates equipment

*  All duets are to be cancelled 24 hours in advanced-the other party will be called and given option of taking a private session at private session rates or cancel altogether. 

*  Standing appointments will be cancelled after three missed appointments

*  Prepaid sessions are non-refundable and expire within 1 year of purchase date. 

Fitness Revolution has a 24 hour cancellation policy.  If you are canceling late and are unable to reschedule for the same week you will be charged for your session.
